Wabun A & Cayuga A-F Updates

Wabun A & Cayuga A-F checked in recently as they paddled through Kasabonika and Webequie respectively.  They excitedly picked up mail and re-outfitted groceries from the Northern Store.  They report incredible weather with sunny skies most days and great whitewater.

Pete and Will report that Wabun A has seen a ton of moose (6 in one day) and have enjoyed excellent fishing.  They said all the boys are well and very happy to have care packages.

Katherine and Natalie called this morning from Webequie. They camped in the community last night with the teachers from a literacy camp and were invited to a drumming ceremony.  They described fun rapids on the top of the Winisk River and saw some river otters playing around in the pools below.  The girls are well and eagerly opening letters and packages.

Cayuga A-M is working its way to Attawapiskat Lake and will call when they get to the community of Neskantaga this week.

The Crees, Chippies, and Wawatays paddled in this morning and we will post some photos soon. They were all smiles and are currently in the midst of a camp-wide ping-pong tournament.
