I write at the conclusion of the Wabun Winter Reunion Tour. On Saturday, March 16 we enjoyed the last Reunion of the year - a great Wabun get-together here on Garden Island. In attendance were 2012 campers:
-Kylie and Brian Burns;
-Sierra Cole;
-Maegan McKee; and
-Michael Cameron.
A special treat was the attendance of Tammy Cole (alum, and Sierra's mom) with younger daughter Sage, Rachel McKee (Maegan's mom) and younger son Liam, Roxane Ayotte (Chief of the Temagami First Nation), and Robin Potts (alum, and Kylie and Brian's mom) who were all students whom Marg and I had the pleasure of having in our classes when we taught at the Bear Island School (1979-1983).
Also attending were:
-Jason and Louise Pigeau with sons Noe and Sam - Jason and Louise are great family friends of ours with whom we spend grand times in the off-season;
-Bob and Gladys Farr - grandparents of 2012 camper Cassius Farr;
-John Kilbridge - many years as camper and staff and current proprietor of the Temagami Canoe Company;
-Ian Cameron - Wabun's 2012 master carpenter and father of Michael (2012);
-Robert Kurkowski (2012 Wabun maintenance/kitchen staff) and his dad;
-Dan Burns - Kyie and Brian's dad and Wabun builder; and
-Peter Healy - Garden Island resident, Executive Secretary of the Temagami Lake Association, and father of alums Andrew and Laura.
Now that we are back on the island again, we will resume the photo updates on our Blog that come with being in a magnificent place at a fabulously beautiful time of the year - March and April rock.
